three bidders: French defense company Thales; a joint bid from German

heavily acquisitive US defense company L-3 Communications.

International Inc - Despite prognostications that proposed cuts in the US defense budget are bad news for some companies, especially contractors manufacturing military weapons hardware, it is business as usual for some defense companies operating in information technology and other peripheral sectors.
